Well, there are two very good reasons why you might want to donate to Allebrum. One reason is software or service related, and the other reason is charity related.
While we do charge for our services and many of our products, we do put a considerable amount of time and resources into the development of free and often times, open source projects that you can use at your leisure. Allebrum does not pay the individuals that create these free projects or compensate them in anyway for the time that they spend on them.
These individuals do these projects out of the goodness of their hearts, in hopes that someone else can save time, energy, and maybe a little money.
What we do ask, is that if you like one of our projects and use it on your site, consider the time that you saved by not having to do the research and programming yourself. If you find that time to be valuable, then drop us a few bucks. You will often see us promote donations in the form of "buy us a cup of tea". That's because we really aren't asking for a lot. If you want to send us $1.00, send us $1.00. You don't have be embarrassed about a dollar donation. We'll never refuse a fifty cents donation, and we'll gladly take a fifty dollar donation.
If you can't afford anything, that's okay too. Trust us, we've downloaded our share of freebies and never gave anything for a lot of them. We always appreciate a simple email to say thanks. It's nice to know there are fans out there. Maybe blog something good about us today.
All software donations are split among all the developers on a monthly basis.
LifeForce is the whole reason Allebrum exists. It's the drive that keeps us moving.
Hi, my name is Senica Gonzalez, CEO and founder of Allebrum. A while back I came to a cross road in my personal life. Money had become an important factor to me. It was the means by which I supplied the comforts that made up my American life. Climbing the ladders and playing the games right, I had created a nice little cushion for myself in society.
As time went on, this desire to help people began to manifest itself in my mind. My thoughts would often drift back to a missions trip I had taken to Haiti when I was younger. I wanted to help people that were in unfortunate economic conditions. I wanted to get people clean water and healthy food. I wanted to help them plant gardens and build better homes. Maybe even build water filtration systems for them.
These thoughts finally got the better of me and I resigned from my position as a software engineer and project manager. I didn't know how I could ever help a single person in any significant manner, but I knew that I would have to try.
As with any chartiy, I knew that I would have to raise money to help others. Being an avid donor myself to various chartiy organizations, I also knew that I had a great dislike for people begging me for money. That wasn't how I wanted to run this organization; I didn't want to have to beg people for money. So I sat down and began to write out the vision to which I would dedicate my remaining years. You can read more about that vision in our mission statement.
I formed Allebrum to be an active profit making entity, that would in turn fund the activities and goals of LifeForce - a non-profit organization. LifeForce is still in the development stages. The vision is real and that the need for money is real. I won't ask you for money, but I won't deny you the opportunity to give if you feel led to do so.
The vision of LifeForce is simple: we seek to be a force that brings better living conditions to people around the world that for whatever reason, have found themselves in an unfortunate economic situation. We want to do this by creating building projects to develop better homes for people. Something that provides shelter against rain, heat, wind and cold. We want to develop agriculture projects by bringing in fertilizers so people can plant gardens and have better nutrition. We want to develop water facilities that get people clean water to drink and bathe in.
That is the vision of LifeForce....that is the drive of Allebrum.
